Car plunged into ditch on Balaton route 7317! 🚗💥

Near the northern shore on the Tapolca–Zalahaláp route a serious accident on road 7317 ⚠️ complicates traffic between upland villages and Balaton resorts. Near Zalahaláp at km 21 a car hit wildlife then rolled into a ditch, disaster management said.

Tapolca municipal firefighters are on site de-energising the vehicle. Single-lane traffic may jam drivers toward Tapolca or Balaton bay. Fortunately nobody was injured but the driver needed medical care.

Especially sensitive for Balaton residents and tourists late summer when many visit Tapolca cave lake, upland wine regions or Csopak and Balatonfüred beaches. Road 7317 links Bakony and Balaton – half-lane section may delay families rushing to lakeside programmes. Slow down at dusk for wildlife strikes common in the uplands.

Police and firefighters ask drivers to avoid unnecessary risk and choose main routes like 71 or 73 toward the Balaton.
