Flames near Balaton: empty house in Veszprém outskirts! 🔥

In the heart of Balaton Uplands, Veszprém outskirts just kilometres from lakeside towns, an empty house burned out 🔥 and flames spread to surrounding vegetation. Fortunately extinguished, it warns holidaymakers and locals as summer drought can escalate such fires threatening nearby forests and trails.

Fire broke out in a 16 m² building on Vadvirág Street; Veszprém firefighters stopped it with three water jets, first preventing spread then fully extinguishing. No injuries or personal loss as the house was unoccupied.

Veszprém as northern gateway to Balatonfüred and Almádi beaches sees daily commuters and tourists. Rising fire risk from warming weather and dry undergrowth affects lakeside towns too. A reminder to check holiday homes and obey open-fire bans critical for safe beach and camping season.
