Children's drawings replace party posters in Keszthely! 🎨

BalatonLife

In Keszthely, one of the jewels of Lake Balaton's northern shore, a genuine surprise awaits passers-by: the town's iconic advertising columns, until now covered in political posters, are now wrapped in colourful children's drawings. 🎨 This change is especially refreshing for lakeside walks, as holidaymakers and locals alike get a friendlier streetscape ahead of the Balaton summer season.

Keszthely municipality did not renew its contract with MAHÍR Zrt., which managed the advertising columns. That is how the war-themed party posters disappeared – they had been controversial in the town for months. In their place came creations by local nursery and primary school children: cheerful drawings of the Balaton, boats, fish and Festetics Palace. City leaders say this is not just an aesthetic but a meaningful step, emphasising the importance of peace and creativity.

The local community welcomed the change positively. Keszthely residents say the children's drawings 🌈 add to the town's appeal, which is crucial in the tourist season. Strolling the Balaton promenades, holidaymakers now encounter inspiring artworks that can lift the lakeside mood. Other Balaton towns such as Hévíz or Balatonfüred are watching the example – perhaps they too will brighten public spaces, strengthening the region's family-friendly image.
