Scary crash on Balaton route 8! 🚗💥

Holidaymakers and locals heading to the northern shore may face serious delays from an accident on route 8 in Márkó outskirts, just kilometres from Veszprém – a key road to the lake especially in summer toward Balatonfüred, Csopak or the southern shore. 🚗⚠️

At km 59 toward Veszprém a car hit the guardrail. Veszprém firefighters de-energised the vehicle and began technical rescue. Police and ambulance are on site.

Only one lane is open, likely causing major jams. Those approaching beaches or camps from Veszprém should expect delays. Locals' daily commute is harder too. Authorities ask drivers to avoid the section or use route 71 to the northern shore.

The crash highlights regional transport vulnerability: growing Balaton tourism means incidents can quickly paralyse routes used by thousands daily.
