Flames broke out in Litér near the Balaton 🔥

Flames broke out in Litér near the northern shore of Lake Balaton, in an industrial area along main road 72. Soundproofing materials caught fire in the partially open machinery storage on Fő Street, right next to a larger hall. Although the site is not on the lakeshore, the fire quickly affected traffic heading towards the Balaton and firefighters from the surrounding settlements as well.

The professional firefighters from Balatonfűzfő responded together with units from Veszprém and Pétfürdő. Under the direction of the disaster management operational service, they prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings and extinguished the flames in a short time. During the intervention, temporary traffic restrictions were also necessary on main road 72, affecting travelers towards Balatonalmádi and Balatonfűzfő.

The incident shows how important rapid and coordinated firefighter presence is in the region, especially in summer when traffic increases on the main road between Balaton-side settlements and industrial zones. Fortunately, no personal injuries occurred and there was no prolonged disruption for the tourist season. 🚒
