Balatoni strandok vize az európai átlag alatt? 😮

Is the water at Balaton beaches below the European average? 😮

BalatonLife

Most beaches around Lake Balaton received excellent water quality ratings in the latest survey by the European Environment Agency, reassuring news for both lakeside vacationers and locals alike. 🌊 Although Hungary’s inland water average falls short of the EU’s 78 percent excellent rate, this difference is barely noticeable at the popular lakeside bathing spots.

According to the report, 85 percent of Europe’s natural bathing sites achieved excellent ratings, while only 1.5 percent received poor evaluations. On Lake Balaton, particularly good results were recorded on the southern shore, with some minor deviations on the northern shore – the map clearly shows this difference. Water quality is checked for the presence of two bacteria hazardous to human health, so an excellent classification truly means safety for bathers.

This positive picture is especially important for Balaton tourism. It signals to locals and vacationers that the lake’s water remains an attractive and reliable destination during the summer season. Although nearly ten percent of the beaches did not receive a rating, the most visited locations – around Siófok, Keszthely or Balatonfüred – are dominated by excellent or good classifications, which can strengthen the lake’s image compared to its European competitors.
