Fire rages in the Balaton region between Ádánd and Nagyberény 🔥

A serious fire is currently raging near the southern shore of Lake Balaton, in the catchment area of Siófok: stubble and standing grain are burning in patches between Ádánd and Nagyberény. Professional firefighters from Siófok and Balatonfűzfő are involved in containing the flames, whose rapid intervention is now particularly important during the summer season.

A water tanker vehicle from Siófok is also working on site to continuously ensure the water needed for extinguishing. The firefighters are currently fighting to prevent the spread of the flames, while due to the wind direction, smoke may also drift towards the surrounding settlements.

Such agricultural fires can also cause inconvenience for holidaymakers on the Balaton shore, as the smoke reduces air quality and sometimes visibility conditions as well. The Siófok fire department plays a key role in the summer period, when traffic and the number of tourists in the area increase.
