Mysterious death near Alsóörs: 42-year-old man jumped into Lake Balaton

On the northern shore of Lake Balaton, in the Alsóörs area, a sad tragedy shook the locals and vacationers. A 42-year-old man jumped into the lake from the deck of a sailboat, but immediately disappeared beneath the surface, and his life could no longer be saved. The boat's passengers immediately notified the Balaton Water Police Department after the man did not surface for long minutes. The water police immediately began the search, and finally a diver found the unfortunate man underwater. Resuscitation was attempted in vain on the victim brought ashore – there was nothing more to be done. The incident near Alsóörs is particularly shocking, as the settlement is a popular sailing and bathing spot, where many tourists and local boaters visit Lake Balaton during the summer months 🌊. Such accidents always remind us how unpredictable the lake can be, even in seemingly calm weather. Administrative proceedings have been initiated in the case, which are being conducted by the Somogy County Police Headquarters. For locals and Balaton tourism stakeholders, the incident once again draws attention to the importance of water safety during the peak season.
