The joint initiative of Magyar Telekom, the Hungarian Water Rescue Service and the Volunteer Firefighters Association enables help to be requested with a single button press in an emergency, whether from the middle of the lake or from the beach.

The free app uses the phone's location data to instantly transmit the exact position of the person in distress to the water rescuers. This is especially critical on Balaton, where the large water surface and changing weather make rapid intervention potentially life-saving. Whether near Siófok, Keszthely or Tihany, the app can significantly shorten the time until help arrives.

On the Telekom biztonsagbanabalatonon.hu website, not only the download and setup steps are available, but also a fun quiz helps prepare for possible emergencies. For every download, the company donates 500 forints to the water rescuers, up to a total of 3 million forints – so Balaton visitors can indirectly contribute to a safer beach season. 🛟
