Drunk driver's rampage to Balaton without a license 🚨
The dawn car chase that started from Székesfehérvár and led through the M7 motorway to the shore of the lake ended on the southern shore of Balaton, in the area of Balatonvilágos. The 26-year-old Ukrainian driver committed several serious traffic violations in a single dawn and was finally stopped by the coordinated action of local police units.
The Székesfehérvár police officers already noticed the Peugeot at dawn when it sped through an intersection ignoring the right of way. Despite the flashing lights, the driver did not stop but accelerated further towards the motorway. He repeatedly tried to shake off the pursuers with deceptive maneuvers until the Enying, Polgárd and Székesfehérvár police completely blocked his path on road 7116.
At the arrest it turned out that the man had never obtained a driver's license, was driving under the influence of alcohol, and used the vehicle without the owner's knowledge. In addition, the vehicle had no compulsory insurance. No personal injury or material damage occurred during the operation.
For the residents of Balatonvilágos and the surrounding settlements, this case once again reminds us how important increased police presence is on the lakeside roads during the summer period. Tourists and locals alike desire safe traffic, especially now in the middle of the peak season. 🚔
