Who will buy the Balaton star house in Balatonhenye? 🏠
In Balatonhenye, the quiet village of the Balaton Uplands, the characteristic family house that was once the shared home of Varga Judit and Magyar Péter has been put up for sale. The 233-square-meter property on a nearly 2000-square-meter plot is advertised for 299 million forints on the real estate market, and the news may also boost property transactions in settlements near Lake Balaton.
According to the listing, the house features modern smart-home technology inside: heating and cooling, alarm system, cameras and solar panels can all be controlled via smartphone. Its exterior, however, faithfully follows the architectural traditions of the Balaton Uplands, blending perfectly into the local landscape. 🏡
The couple bought the property in 2013 and took advantage of the family home creation allowance in 2017. Although the grant required at least ten years of residence, this condition was not met, so Varga Judit repaid the 10 million forint support in 2023.
An interesting detail for the local community is that in 2019 Magyar Péter nearly ran for mayor of Balatonhenye but withdrew at the last moment. The sale of the property may once again put the village in the spotlight, where the proximity of Lake Balaton and the peaceful surroundings are attracting more people looking for holiday homes or permanent residences. 🌊
