Field on fire in Ádánd: what lies behind the 15-hectare blaze? 🔥
In the outskirts of Ádánd flames broke out, right in the vicinity of Siófok, where about fifteen hectares of stubble and an empty storage building also caught fire. The site lies just a few kilometers from the southern shore of Lake Balaton, so the smoke and firefighting operations may affect residents of nearby settlements as well as holidaymakers.
The professional firefighters from Siófok and Balatonfűzfő responded to the scene, fighting the flames with water jets and hand tools. The fire spread rapidly across the dry stubble, while the storage building burned in its entirety, requiring multiple units for the intervention.
Although the fire does not directly threaten the Lake Balaton beaches, the southwesterly wind could carry smoke toward the lake, so residents and holidaymakers in the surrounding settlements should follow official updates. The rapid response of the regional fire departments once again demonstrates how important coordinated protection is in the Lake Balaton area 🔥🚒
According to the disaster management authority, most of the area is already under control, but final extinguishing may take longer due to the windy weather. The most important thing for locals now is to observe the fire ban and protect the surrounding agricultural lands.
