Tófeji Zalakerámia újraindult – lendület a Balaton-régiónak 🏭

Tófeji Zalakerámia Restarted – Momentum for the Balaton Region 🏭

BalatonLife
It is also important news for construction developments around Lake Balaton that production restarted in July at the Tófeji ceramics factory. The plant located in the western part of the country, near Balaton, its new owner, Terra Danubia Kft., not only launched production but also acquired the rights to the Tófeji clay mine, the Sümeg limestone mine and the Gyöngyöspata mine. This step directly affects the lakeside settlements and the holiday zone, where there is continuous demand for quality tiles and building materials. The closure of the former Zalakerámia plant last year caused significant resonance in the region. The new owner, a member of the Szatmári Group, intends to modernize capacities and align the product range with current market needs. Their goal is to become a key player in the domestic and regional tile market in the long term – this could also be favorable for Balaton-side investments, hotel renovations and residential real estate developments. In the first phase, 80 employees are planned at the factory. Due to the proximity of the Sümeg mine, raw material supply is also logistically advantageous for the western basin of Balaton. For the local community this means jobs, and for tourism it may mean more stable building material supply in the coming seasons. 🏭
