Pine forest ablaze in Gyulafirátót near Lake Balaton 🔥

A serious forest fire has broken out in the Gyulafirátót district in the Veszprém area near the northern shore of Lake Balaton. The flames raging in the pine forest are also endangering residential buildings, so immediate intervention is needed on site.

The fire broke out in Pásztor Street, where the dry pine forest fuels rapidly spreading flames. The professional firefighters from Veszprém and Balatonfűzfő are working to contain the fire under the direction of the Veszprém County disaster management operations service. Additional units are heading to the scene to prevent the flames from spreading toward populated areas.

The rapid response of the Balatonfűzfő firefighters is particularly important for the Balaton region, as the safety of local communities and summer visitors also depends on effective intervention. Due to wind direction and the forested environment, the spread of smoke and fire poses a serious risk to surrounding settlements as well.
