⚡ Darkness on the Balaton Shore – What Should You Do?

In one of the popular settlements of the Balaton Uplands, Aszófő, locals and those resting around the lake alike need to prepare for a planned power outage due to maintenance work affecting the summer period. Due to the proximity of Balaton, many choose this quiet village as the location for their vacation or weekend getaway, so it is important that everyone is informed about the changes in time.

On Monday, 31 August 2026, between 08:00 and 16:00 power supply will be suspended in Pécselyi utca. The reason for the outage is the replacement of an above-ground support structure that forms part of the public network, serving safe and reliable energy supply in the settlements around Balaton.

For local residents and operators of guest houses on the Balaton shore, this means it is advisable to plan daily tasks in advance: the contents of refrigerators, charging of electronic devices and possible cooking activities. Although the outage directly affects only one street, every such intervention can impact surrounding services during the busy season in the Balaton region.
