Mysterious Concerts in Vonyarcvashegy Chapel by Lake Balaton 🎶
On the western shore of Lake Balaton, in the picturesque setting of Vonyarcvashegy, the St. Michael's Chapel comes to life again this summer, where the Western Balaton Chapel Concerts series enchants visitors. This program series is a perfect example of how lakeside vacationing combines with high-quality cultural experiences, attracting both locals and guests from settlements around Lake Balaton.
The opening concert mass on July 19 brings the mass settings and motets of Thomas Stoltzer, who passed away 500 years ago, performed by COLLEGIUM SONORUM under the artistic direction of Zoltán Mizsei. On August 2, under the title “Dancing Keys”, 17th-18th century suites will be played on organ and harpsichord by organist László Gesztesi-Tóth and singer Ildikó Wisznovszky.
August 14 Márta Sebestyén and Judit Andrejszki will perform with the program “Bright Star of the Sea…”, while on August 28 the Veduta Musica ensemble will play Baroque French and Spanish pieces. The series closes on September 27 with the Balaton String Quartet performing Dvořák's American String Quartet.
These concerts are not only musical delicacies but also enrich the cultural life of the Balaton region, strengthening the cohesion of lakeside communities and their tourist appeal. 🎵 It is worth planning the visit in advance so that the summer evenings within the chapel walls are enriched with unforgettable experiences.
