Siófok Flames: Dry Vegetation Burns Along the Balaton Shore 🔥

Siófok, one of the busiest southern shore settlements of Lake Balaton, once again reminded us how quickly vegetation can ignite near populated areas during dry periods. At the intersection of Egres Street and Cseresznyefa Street, dry grass and undergrowth caught fire, spreading over nearly a thousand square meters in the local residential area.

The professional firefighters from Siófok extinguished the flames quickly using two water jets and hand tools. The intervention was swift and effective, so the fire did not spread to nearby properties or green areas.

In Balaton-side towns, such incidents always require heightened attention, as dry grass and undergrowth can easily spread further depending on the wind direction. It is important for local residents to pay special attention to fire safety rules during dry periods and immediately report suspicious smoke or flames to the 112 emergency number.
