DJ Oti in Siófok: Even a knitting circle would draw this many people 🧶
The Siófok Plázs was packed again last weekend when DJ Oti delivered two consecutive sold-out concerts. It was one of the most memorable moments of the Balaton lakeside summer events, as it was exactly here in Siófok that Sebestyén Balázs’s East German alter ego launched his career two years ago.
Millennials and Generation X members flocked in large numbers to sing along to the well-known hits from the 1990s and 2000s by the lakeside. After the 65,000 peak at Sziget Festival, many were curious to see Oti’s return to his starting point. The answer was clear: the same frenzied atmosphere greeted him as in Budapest.
“If he started a knitting circle, this many people would line up for that too” – one comment heard on site summed up the phenomenon’s strength. Local hospitality operators noted that the two evenings significantly boosted Siófok’s nighttime traffic, with many visitors coming specifically for this reason to the southern shore of Balaton.
DJ Oti’s success proves that Balaton lakeside party culture can still attract nationwide attention when it offers an authentic and nostalgic vibe. For the lakeside community, it is especially proud that this story began here.
