Vonyarcvashegy's new craze: Move with us on the Balaton shore 🌊

Vonyarcvashegy, located on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, is preparing for another busy day: the “Mozdulj velünk Vonyarcon!” event series reaches another station on September 5. As part of the “Forest behind us, water in front of us” day, the lakeside atmosphere can be experienced through water biking, one of the most popular water experiences on Lake Balaton.

The program starts at Lido Strand, on the premises of the Sharky water sports school. Participants will first take a round on the waves of Lake Balaton with water bikes, followed by a presentation by Pali Róbert, mayor of Vonyarcvashegy, on the municipality's tourism offerings. This will be followed by a walking tour to the sights of the village, interspersed with stations.

The entire series is realized within the framework of Veszprém-Balaton European Sports Region 2026. During five sports days, each time a water sport is combined with land-based movement, and three presentations on health promotion and education are also awaiting those interested. Lido Strand serves as the permanent starting point.

Participants receive stickers in movement point collection passports, which can be redeemed for a 15 percent discount on water sports equipment rentals, as well as Veszprém-Balaton 2026 souvenirs. This initiative strengthens active tourism along the Balaton shore and encourages locals and visitors to engage in regular physical activity in the lakeside environment. 🌊🚲
