Balaton Agrotourism Unites: New Network Born 🌾

The settlements along the Balaton shore have long been seeking solutions to combine the agricultural traditions around the lake with hospitality. Now an important step has been taken in this direction: the Balaton Agrotourism Cooperation Network has been officially established.

On August 25 in Keszthely, a strategic agreement was signed in a ceremonial setting that opens a new chapter in the life of the region. The initiative was created under the professional coordination of MATE, with the participation of 15 Balaton municipalities and 6 key professional organizations. The network aims to coordinate the work of local producers, hospitality providers and municipalities, making the Balaton area even more attractive to visitors interested in agrotourism 🌿.

With the signing of the agreement, farms and tourism service providers operating in the Balaton region can establish more direct connections with each other. This can bring practical benefits to local producers – for example, joint marketing, new sales channels and professional support. For visitors, it opens up experiences such as farm visits, tastings and seasonal programs closely linked to the landscape and traditions around the lake.

The creation of the network shows that there is a growing demand along the Balaton for sustainable, place-based tourism. In the coming period, members plan to showcase the region’s agricultural values through joint projects and events, further strengthening the Balaton brand.
