Changes on the Horizon at Balaton? New Resolutions Arrived

The municipality of Balatonakarattya made several decisions at its recent representative body meeting that directly affect the daily life of the settlement and the northern shore of Lake Balaton. The body first withdrew its previous resolution No. 59/2025, then amended resolution No. 60/2025, which concerns the cost reimbursement and salary of the full-time deputy mayor.

Particularly important for the Balaton region is the position on the planned new railway station in the settlement. Better rail connections could significantly facilitate travel for holidaymakers and locals, strengthening tourism and the local economy 🚂. The meeting also discussed the second half of the 2026 work plan, which sets further development directions for the Balaton-side community.

These decisions show that small Balaton settlements are also actively working to make the area more attractive and livable in the long term. The railway station issue could be particularly promising for the entire region, as sustainable transport is playing an increasingly important role in Balaton tourism.
