Balaton Alarm: Two Fires Near Somogyszentpál 🔥

In the Balaton region, on the outskirts of Somogyszentpál, fires broke out in two places near the railway embankment. The professional firefighters from Keszthely and Marcali immediately rushed to the scene to control the flames, which can be particularly dangerous to the surrounding areas during the summer period.

One fire spread along three hundred meters of vegetation beside the railway embankment, while two to three hundred meters away, vegetation is also burning over a larger area. The professional units from Zalakaros and Pacsa, as well as the volunteer firefighters from Kethely, also joined the effort, with the disaster management operational service supporting the intervention 🔥.

The fire site is six to eight hundred meters from populated areas, so residents of settlements near Balaton and holidaymakers are not yet in direct danger. However, the rapid response of local forces highlights how important preparedness is in the Balaton region, where fires can easily spread during dry periods.

Disaster management is continuously monitoring the situation and will send additional reinforcements to the area if necessary.
