Do you know what awaits you in Siófok on the shores of Lake Balaton?

This year, Siófok on the shores of Lake Balaton is once again joining the folk tale day celebrations on September 30, which for two decades has been drawing attention to the value of Hungarian folk tales. On the lakeside promenade and in nearby cultural institutions, storytelling afternoons, family activities, and an exhibition presenting the life of Benedek Elek await visitors.

The program series specifically targets local communities: in the Siófok library and in a tent set up on the beach, stories are told to children in smaller groups, while the view of Lake Balaton is also part of the experience. According to the organizers, the lakeside environment is particularly suitable for connecting the magical world of tales with nature for the audience.

The events start at 4 PM in the afternoon and are free of charge. Among the settlements around Lake Balaton, Siófok is one of the most active participants, where folk tales not only entertain but also strengthen the common cultural memory among locals and visitors.
