What is burning on the outskirts of Felsőrajk? Fire near Balaton causes alarm 🔥

In the area near Zalakaros close to Lake Balaton, on the outskirts of Felsőrajk, a serious fire broke out at the edge of the settlement. In Szabadság Street, the stubble caught fire, and the flames quickly spread to a nearby forest strip, causing serious alarm in the area.

The fire reached an approximately forty-square-meter outbuilding, which caught fire in its entirety. Beeswax and beekeeping equipment were burning inside the building, which made the smoke and flames particularly intense. Fortunately, the flames did not spread to the residential house attached to the outbuilding, so the residents are safe.

Professional firefighters from Pacsa, Zalakaros and Nagykanizsa, as well as volunteer firefighters from Gelse, arrived at the scene 🚒 and immediately began intervention. For residents of settlements around Balaton, the rapid handling of such incidents is always important, as fires can easily spread in agricultural areas during the summer due to drought.

During the intervention, the firefighters prevented further spread, so the surrounding forest strip and most of the residential area were saved. According to local residents, the family engaged in beekeeping now faces significant losses, but most importantly, no personal injuries occurred.
