Vonyarcvashegy Balaton Búcsú: What Does the Village Day Hold? 🌊
On the northern shore of Lake Balaton, the traditional September celebration of Vonyarcvashegy awaits locals and guests relaxing around the lake with a colorful program lineup this year as well. The Vonyarc Village Day and Búcsú on Sunday, September 13, promises an all-day community experience where both spiritual and entertainment programs have their place.
The day begins at 8 a.m. with the búcsú mass in the Vonyarc church, followed at 9 a.m. by the Heroes’ Day commemoration and wreath-laying in the cemetery. The speech will be delivered by Mayor Pali Róbert, with the participation of the Vonyarcvashegy Chamber Choir and poet Sági Béla. This part is especially important for the Balaton communities, as remembering local heroes always connects generations.
The event area really comes alive from 4 p.m.: Móka Palota entertains the youngest with a musical children’s show and giant bubble show, followed by operetta and musical hits by Gergő Farkas. At 5:55 p.m. there will be a festive greeting, at 6 p.m. Gjon Delhusa takes the stage, and from 7 p.m. DJ Szunyog ensures the good atmosphere. Accompanying programs include handicraft workshops, a free inflatable castle, local wineries and gastronomic stalls, as well as vendors.
This village day is a great opportunity for visitors from the Balaton area to get a glimpse into local life, discover Vonyarcvashegy flavors and music, while every family member finds a program for themselves. 🌊🎉
