Vonyarcvashegy's Hidden Treasures: Workshops and Clubs at Lake Balaton

On the northern shore of Lake Balaton, in Vonyarcvashegy, with the arrival of autumn the local Művelődési Ház és Könyvtár comes to life again. For the lakeside community these activities offer not only entertainment but also valuable pastime during the cooler months when the summer bustle has subsided.

From October every Wednesday from 5 PM a crochet workshop starts in the workshop room led by Somogyi Magdolna. Those who love handicrafts will find a home here. On Thursdays from 6 PM a candle-making workshop awaits those interested led by Cseke Krisztina with the support of the National Institute for Culture 🕯️. On the same day from 5:30 PM a beginner or refresher English course also starts in the dome room with Radóné Karácsonyi Enikő – this is a fee-based activity.

Fridays from 3 PM the offer expands with a sewing and tailoring workshop led by Papiezné Kertay Beatrix. Tuesdays are for the little ones with the Varázshangok music cradle led by Kőhalmi Balázs, sessions at 8:50 and 10 AM – also fee-based, first session on September 15.

These programs strengthen Balaton community life, provide opportunities for locals to meet and create together, while also enhancing the cultural appeal of the lakeside settlement throughout the year.
