Who will win the title of Balaton's best duty officer?

The knowledge of professionals working for the safety of the Balaton region was also tested recently: between October 6 and 8, the VI. Duty Professional Competition was held in Balatonföldvár, at the Hotel Jogar. The choice of the lakeside location is no coincidence – after all, the duty officers around Balaton often have to coordinate extreme weather situations, water accidents or tourist events affecting large crowds.

At the competition, operations controllers from various parts of the country processed situations based on real scenarios. The task was not easy: they had to monitor the movements of the intervention units, log the events, and coordinate the work of external bodies and civilian helpers at the same time. All this required a high level of concentration and quick situation recognition.

It is particularly important for the settlements along the Balaton shore that the duty officers are prepared to handle the increased load during the summer period. During storms, water rescues or mass events, the work of the specialists directing from the background is often invisible, yet indispensable for quick and effective intervention.

The competition participants were thus able not only to develop their professional knowledge, but also to take home experiences serving the safety of the Balaton region. 🌊🏆
