Fire on the outskirts of Nagyberény: several hectares fell victim to the flames 🔥
In the settlements around Lake Balaton, forest fires and flames in vegetation always receive special attention, as the region's natural beauty and tourism make safety crucial. On the outskirts of Nagyberény, in the area between Ady Endre and József Attila streets, such an incident occurred: stubble and logging waste caught fire, starting from the ends of the yards.
The fire quickly spread to the neighboring forest strip as well, so eventually about four hectares of area burned down. The professional firefighters from Siófok worked with multiple water jets, first containing and then completely extinguishing the flames. Their work was also supported by local civilians who rushed to the scene immediately.
Such events can be particularly dangerous in the forested and agricultural areas of the Balaton Uplands during dry periods. The quick intervention this time prevented the fire from causing greater damage to the surrounding green areas. The presence of the Siófok units once again proved that in the region, professional and volunteer forces are working in coordination to protect local communities and natural values 🔥🌲
