Flames broke out in Sáska – what happened near Balaton? 🔥

A fire broke out on the outskirts of Sáska, one of the quiet settlements in the Balaton Uplands, endangering the region’s natural values as well. Dry grass is burning over a large area, and containment efforts have already begun on site.

The professional firefighters from Badacsonytomaj immediately rushed to the scene, joined by the municipal unit from Tapolca as well as the volunteer firefighters from Zalahaláp and Sáska. The water tender from Badacsonytomaj is also supporting the operations to stop the spread of the flames as soon as possible.

The rapid and coordinated response of the firefighters from the settlements around Balaton is especially important now, as new hotspots can emerge at any moment during the dry period. The presence of the local units is reassuring for both residents of the area and visitors arriving at Balaton.
