Balatonfüred municipality announces another residential tree planting program

The municipality of Balatonfüred announces another residential tree planting program. One tree per garden property can be requested free of charge.

The maintenance of existing public tree rows is placing an increasing burden on the settlement, so the municipality provides the opportunity for residents to plant trees on their own properties. Last year, 78 trees found owners, and the remaining trees were planted in public areas.

To join the tree planting program, registration is required; after the first hundred applicants, the registration opportunity closes. Applicants can choose from several tree species, for example, Hungarian ash, early maple, silk acacia or ornamental pear. The applicant must undertake to plant the tree without delay and to care for it properly for at least five years.
