At the October meeting of the Siófok city council, the police closed a successful season: the number of criminal proceedings ordered during the summer period decreased from last year's 683 to 536. Within this, the number of thefts decreased from 244 to 141, burglaries from 10 to 1, car break-ins from 6 to 3, serious bodily injuries from 22 to 9, and beach thefts from 45 to 21. The number of crimes registered on Petőfi promenade fell from 30 to 14, while the number of public order offenses increased slightly – reported Lieutenant Colonel Mária Beke, the city police captain.

The police work was supported by the city's financial assistance, nearly 300 public cameras and the cooperation of the city guard. From November 1, Lieutenant Colonel József Bácsmegi will take over the leadership of the Siófok police station, after Mária Beke was entrusted with the management of the Kaposvár police station.

Gergely Máté, mentioning the deterioration of traffic morale and summer accidents, asked about the possibility of more effective prevention. Mayor Dr. Róbert Lengyel said that legislation must keep pace with the problem, for example by allowing vehicle confiscation in cases of flagrant violations. According to Mária Beke, speeding remains the leading cause of accidents, which is why speed checks are frequent.
