Fire in the cellar in Balatonederics – what happened? 🔥

A serious fire broke out in the cellar of a family house in Dózsa Street, Balatonederics, which immediately mobilized the professional firefighters of the region. In the Balaton region, where quick response is particularly important during the summer season, the Badacsonytomaj and Keszthely units arrived at the scene within minutes.

The fire affected approximately ten cubic meters of firewood in the cellar. The firefighters first removed an undamaged gas cylinder from the building to prevent a greater danger from developing. However, the cellar became so hot that the units could not go down yet, so they are extinguishing the flames from the outside, and a prolonged intervention is expected.

Three people live in the affected house, who were taken in by relatives during the firefighting. In the local community, such cases always remind us how important prevention is, especially in the settlements around Lake Balaton, where many family houses have cellars used for heating. The firefighters are currently working on site to restore safety.
