Shock on Balaton route 7: serious crash! 🚨

BalatonLife

In traffic on the southern shore near Siófok-Sóstó a 🚗 crash occurred on route 7 – a lifeline for holidaymakers and locals around the lake. At km 104 a driver swerved to avoid another car and drove into a ditch.

Fortunately the two vehicles did not collide; both drivers travelled alone and left their cars unharmed. Ambulance crews examined them. Siófók firefighters handled technical rescue and kept traffic flowing.

Route 7 at Siófok is the southern shore's main artery to beaches, camps and festivals. 🌊 In peak summer such incidents can cause hour-long jams slowing travel toward Zamárdi or Balatonföldvár. Locals commuting to work are frustrated too – the case highlights risks where holiday traffic raises danger.

Disaster management says order is restored but asks for cautious driving around the Balaton where sudden manoeuvres are common.
