István Cserpes bids farewell to the Balaton Cheese Workshop 🧀

In one of the most famous wine regions of the Balaton Uplands, Badacsony, many seek peace after hectic everyday life. For István Cserpes, this attraction also became decisive: the namesake of the Cheese Workshop decided to leave behind daily business tasks and instead garden on his plot in Badacsony.

The ownership change at Cserpes – Sajtműhely Élelmiszeripari Kft. has now become official. The place of Kapuvár-based Tevje Kft. was taken over by Mosonmagyaróvár-based Profood Flexum Kft. Cserpes István's company, Tevje, prepared for the transaction already in June, so the name founder could step back smoothly.

From the perspective of the gastronomic offerings around Lake Balaton, the change is an interesting development. Many local producers and restaurateurs appreciate the presence of artisanal cheeses in the region, and the ownership change may now open a new chapter in the availability of the products. At the same time, the desire to hoe in Badacsony well illustrates how the quality of life around Lake Balaton intertwines with entrepreneurial decisions.

The step can also be a signal for smaller and larger food industry players in the region: sometimes the appeal of one's own garden and peaceful Balaton everyday life is stronger than corporate growth. 🌿
